BACKPACKER HOSTELS on Israel Trail and throughout Israel
Trail Angels are people along hiking trails who offer help for the
hikers, usually by opening their homes free of charge or by charging a
low price. You will be staying at a private home, in a Kibbutz room, or
sleep nearby in a sleeping bag. Most of the time these "angels" allow
you to use a few facilities in their house.

Trail Angels exist on
The Israel National Trail too.
Trail Angels offer their hospitality and offer their help in a few
ways, not only by offering a bed: be it a ride to a nearest
Israeli town; a
meal; an internet connection et al.
Trail Angels are truly "angels" and cannot be described in any other way. It's amazing how some people will go completely out of their way to help
backpackers out on their own little journey. They don't have to, and
the INT hikers certainly aren't asking for it, but it sure is welcome.
Once you start
hiking the
Israel Trail and you meet one or two Trail Angels, you will know to what we are referring. It is important to remember that these people are helping the hiking community because they want to, and are not obligated to do so. We welcome their help but we certainly don't demand it. Nevertheless, it is important to treat them with as much respect and dignity as you do to your friends and family. One
hiker who misacts can ruin it all for all of the hikers. It doesn't take much more than a bad seed to make a Trail Angel disappear.
Below are a few guidelines
to follow when you are
hiking The Israel Trail and staying at a Trail Angel's house:

Don't arrive unexpectedly at a Trail Angel. Try to contact each Trail Angel at least 48 hours prior to arrival.

Always abide by the rules of the house.

Wherever you stay, try to keep it in the same condition as it was before you arrived.

Some Trail Angels are religious so be aware of that so as not to call them on Sabbath or on Israeli holidays.
